DECA Competitions
There are three stages of DECA competition. Most individuals start competing at region competition in order to qualify for State competition. At State, competitors can qualify for International competition. See below for details on each stage of competition.

Whitewater DECA is a proven competitor in our region and in the state of Georgia. Our students regularly place at State and qualify for International competition.

Region Competition
Region competition is the first stage for many of our competitors. Students who choose to compete in individual role plays start here. Those who place will be eligible to compete at State in that role play. If an individual does not place, they have the chance to compete at state in a prepared event or a team role play. Principal role plays (for first year competitors) are offered at region competition as well. Students take an exam prior to competing that will count 1/3 of their score. The other 2/3 of their score will come from the results of their role play.
The Georgia DECA State Career Development Conference

Hosted at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, State competition usually takes place in February. High school students come from all across Georgia to compete in over 60 events. These events are: Principles of Business Administration Events (for first year competitors only), Team decision Making Events, Individual Series Events, Personal Financial Literacy Event, Business Operations Research Events, Project Management Events, Entrepreneurship Events, Integrated Marketing Campaign Events, Professional Selling and Consulting Events, and online events. Overall, the State Career Development Conference is a great opportunity to experience more of DECA while meeting new friends and creating memories along the way!
International Career Development Conference

International competition known as ICDC (International Career Development Conference) will take place in Anaheim, California this year. To qualify for ICDC, students must qualify at state competition. Typically, the top 7 in each event will earn a place in international competition. Qualifiers will compete against the top qualifiers from all 50 states and 4 other countries. Competitors who don't qualify for ICDC have the opportunity to attend the Leadership Academy which still provides them with the ICDC experience without the competitive environment. The top 10 in each international event are named International Finalists. ICDC is the pinnacle for our competitors and it is a great accomplishment to qualify.
